In 1926, Oliver E. Clark bought an existing box manufacturer for $800 which included all existing machinery and equipment. Initially a one man operation, he began producing rigid boxes for retail stores and industrial companies.
During the 1930's the company expanded and occupied two floors of an industrial building on Wall St. in Los Angeles. In 1936 Oliver E. Clark Jr. became the President and COO.
By 1947 the company again outgrew its facilities and moved to an 18,000 sq. ft. facility at its present location in Los Angeles, CA. Currently, the company occupies 180,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and warehouse space at the same location.
In 1957 the company introduced its folding carton division known as Print Specialties and in 1967 the distribution company known as Central City Box & Paper was started.
The current President and COO, Oliver "Robin" E. Clark III recently stated "The company's growth has really revolved around updating to modern equipment and implementing the technological advances into the operation".
The philosophy of updating and implementing technology continues. Recent additions include 6 color Heidelberg printing, high speed Bobst die-cutters and a new, additional, Kluge hot stamping press. In the rigid box department, new laminating and case making equipment has been added.
O.E. Clark continues the traditions of its family company heritage but, with the added emphasis on leading edge technology, continues to be a leader in the packaging industry.
